An impending wind and rainstorm did not deter Jetco from hosting its annual safety meeting at its Houston headquarters on Saturday, April 6, 2025. Since post-COVID, Jetco has livestreamed its meeting between its Houston and Dallas (Arlington, TX) offices. This year, the Houston facility had a quick venue change, moving the event inside our warehouse to avoid potential bad weather.
Across the two offices, 236 employees and their family members attended. Jetco Vice President of Safety Jeff McKinney kicked off the meeting with a safety moment, followed by Jetco President Kyle Kristynik, who gave a state-of-the-union with encouraging remarks about our growth, backing from our parent company and collaborations with our sister companies, and resilient company culture. Former Jetco CEO Brian Fielkow served as our keynote speaker, with an inspiring talk about the evolution of Jetco, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary next year and which celebrates its 10th anniversary at this Aldine Bender location.
Other special guests included Precision Specialized President Ed Bernard and Canada Cartage former Chief Operating Officer and current Senior Executive Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions Jason Cunneyworth.
Before breaking for lunch, employees received safety training on Origo, a technology that helps our professional drivers better perform DVIR inspections and helps improve security and tracking of our equipment. Shop Manager Curtis Jordan walked Jetco team members through correct and thorough pre- and post-trip inspections, and Jeff introduced us to the Jetco safety and wellness committee members, who serve as a bridge between office staff and our professional drivers.
During lunch, Kyle presented longevity and Extra Mile awards, as well as raffle prizes. Employees received raffle tickets for canned good donations, which this year benefited Northwest Assistance Ministries, a non-profit, community-based, multi-program social service agency that strives to meet basic human needs through Neighbors Helping Neighbors.
Thanks to all who attended, and we look forward to a successful 2025!
