Bayport and Barbour's Cut Terminals Are Closed

Written by Brooke Beall | Mar 19, 2020 5:00:00 AM

Barbour’s Cut and Bayport container terminals in Houston have closed indefinitely as the result of COVID-19 exposure. All vessel, yard, and gate operations have been stopped until further notice.

Port personnel are working remotely and are available by email only. We are watching this situation closely and will keep you informed as we learn about updated receiving and cut-off dates,  vessel schedules and demurrage.

From our experience with past shut downs, expect delays when the ports resume operations.   Depending on the length of the shut down, it’s possible that vessels could be diverted to other ports. Please work with us to pre-book and pre-plan so that we can prioritize your cargo accordingly. For fastest replies regarding your intermodal needs,  please email us at IM@jetcodelivery.com. We are available to help with any needs you may have.

To the extent that your cargo does not involve Bayport or Barbour’s Cut specifically,  we are fully operational. Examples include service to inland ports ( i.e.,  Manchester, City Dock, Jacintoport, Greensport & Industrial terminals) and outside equipment depots.

If your cargo is diverted to another terminal or city, we can handle it for you.

We have outdoor storage space and can hold containers for you while these major ports are closed.

We will get through these challenging times together. We have a robust  business continuity plan which has been mobilized for the past several weeks. Please let us know if you have any questions at all.
