Jetco’s director of communications, Lisa Battaglia Sursavage, was sworn in as a TXTA board member at the association’s 2017 annual conference in Austin. The TXTA board works to advocate just and proper laws and administrative regulations at the local, state and federal levels of the government in the best interest of the shipping and traveling public.
“We’re happy to have Lisa join the TXTA board,” said TXTA president John D. Esparza. “Jetco has a long history of TXTA involvement, and we’re looking forward to working with Lisa as a board member.”
Lisa will serve as a liaison between the trucking industry and state and federal administrative agencies that have jurisdiction over the Texas motor carrier industry. She will also work to help promote the positive image of trucking.
“This is a role that I’m honored to take on,” said Lisa. “I’m looking forward to serving as the voice of our drivers and the industry. I’m also proud to represent women in trucking. Having the opportunity to participate at this level is one that I take seriously. I hope I will help pave the way for more women to have a voice, and I’m truly thankful for the opportunity to serve alongside the other TXTA board members.”
