The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted many parts of our economy. However, our nation’s truck drivers soldier on and are essential in helping keep the economy moving. For their commitment, I would like to thank our nation’s truck drivers. They are on the front lines of any crisis and its aftermath, and they are our unsung heroes. Jetco professional drivers have been very busy over the past week restocking grocery shelves throughout our region. It is both an honor and responsibility to serve our communities in times of greatest need.
Having endured hurricanes, storms and other disruptions, Jetco has in place a robust contingency and business continuity plan. We’ve made a number of short-term changes to our operations, including the following:
- At all times, half of our staff will be working remotely. Your emails and calls will be answered promptly as always. If for any reason you are unable to reach us, email any of the groups in our contacts list.
- We’ve temporarily closed our offices to visitors. Our sales and customer service teams will email or call you to set up conference or video calls. For your safety and ours, we do not believe this is the time for in-person meetings.
- We’ve established a clear expectation that any of our team members stay home if they are sick or have recently traveled to high-risk parts of the world. We’ve also established guidelines for employees whose family members are sick.
- Our whole team, including professional drivers who visit your facilities, has been briefed on CDC hygiene guidelines and are expected to follow them.
We realize this is a rapidly changing situation. Times such as these necessitate increased communication. We will update our emergency policies as warranted and communicate them to you as needed.
Please let us know if there are any site-specific measures in place at your shipping facilities so that we can brief our drivers before they arrive. We want to respect your organization’s safety measures.
A crisis such as COVID-19 creates special challenges and opportunities. We’re in this together, and we are ready to support you and your organization during these times. If there is anything you would like to discuss, please email me. We can schedule a time to talk.
Since 1976, Jetco has been there for you through the best of times and the most challenging of times. We appreciate the trust you place in us.
